DQ works most effectively when hosts, servers and runners work in a focussed way on their tasks
Orders / Requests Received
Runners should be dedicated to handling orders and staff requests that appear on the Orders screen (also known as the Bump Screen) in the dispense area. Ideally, this screen should remain visible at all times on a tablet device, with orders processed in a first-in, first-out manner.
Order cards display the contents of each order along with its payment status.
Runners may also receive requests from waiters and managers during service. Accept them in Notifications, and use the Run List at the top of Orders to see items to run and open requests.
Optional: tap … on Orders → Launch Dashboard to show the live order on your lock screen.
Payment Taken (Optional)
If granted payment permissions, runners can assign payment receipts to orders.
A fully paid order is indicated by a solid green badge showing the amount and payment method.
Orders Ready
As runners handle an order, they should tap the button on its card to move it on:
Pending → Preparing → Ready → Delivered
Long-press a card for all options. Waiters who placed the orders receive live activity notifications as the order status changes and can communicate with the runner if needed.
DQ automatically records the time spent in each order status to help calculate average turnaround times during service.
Orders Delivered
In an efficient venue, the target is an average order turnaround of 3 minutes or less.
Wait times are visually displayed to runners via a coloured progress line at the bottom of each order card, which completes its journey over 12 minutes.
